Renovation of the original showcases from 1970 - Heritage An ongoing project
Renovation of historic shop windows International Museum of Watchmaking - La Chaux-de-Fonds Classified as heritage, these iconic showcases from the 1970s have undergone a technical renovation that respects their original design. The challenge was to completely modernize the lighting and electronic integration without altering the historical aesthetic that gives them their heritage value. A custom ceiling light, modeled in 3D for each of the six window formats, has been designed to precisely fit existing volumes. It incorporates a magnetic rail and adjustable micro-spots, providing fine directional lighting that can be adapted to each exposed room. In the centre, the backlit surface diffuses a dynamic white light, adjustable from 2200K to 6500K, allowing the chromatic atmosphere to be varied according to the pieces presented or staging needs. All the electronics necessary for this lighting are embedded and hidden in the base, for a completely invisible intervention that preserves the original lines of the windows. The entire lighting system is controlled wirelessly via Bluetooth Casambi technology, offering precise and individualized control of each window, with adjustment of intensity, color temperature and orientation, without visible wiring or intervention on the historical structure. Entirely made of custom metal, this technical set disappears behind the historic architecture it serves. Contemporary technology is thus put at the service of conservation, without ever betraying the authentic look of 1970s furniture. To the website of the MIH Museum
