Oppizzi Studio
Davide Oppizzi is the founder of DCUBE Swiss and Oppizzi Studio. For more than 25 years, he has offered design publishing houses production partnerships, with his favourite playground being the 'grey zones', those unlikely, unexplored territories where he lets his imagination roam free to give rise to unique, exclusive products.
Creativity and vision at the service of innovation.
Unusual artistic approach
A sheet, a pencil, and observing the world.
It is often said that inspiration and creativity are innate qualities. Davide Oppizzi tends to see it differently: creativity, for him, is a way of looking at the world, one that shapes our observations and sensibilities, filtered through our own personality. Creating, he believes, is an ongoing process of building and rebuilding: the world and the objects within it, bound by space and time, all have a beginning and an end. The static object sometimes seems to escape this law of nature, but it is usually only a matter of time before its own days are numbered. Without this cycle, the act of learning to create would be limiting in a world without limits.
Ergonomics, function and precision
Ergonomics is never an afterthought, added to a form once it has already been settled. For Davide Oppizzi, it must instead be born together with the idea itself, a founding constraint on equal footing with function. A well-conceived object never imposes itself on the body that uses it: it allows itself to be inhabited, both in gesture and in gaze. Precision, for its part, is not a matter of formal perfection but of rightness, the kind that means a detail exists because it is necessary, not because it decorates. To draw, then, is to search relentlessly for that point of balance where function, hand and eye come together, until the object seems as though it could never have been any other way.
Ecotech : create with consciousness
For every square centimetre we take from nature, we must first think through, and plan for, exactly how we will give it back, in every step of product development: it is actions that count. Building a virtuous circular economy, one that respects the ecosystem, is today an essential responsibility, not through offsetting, but through preservation.Oppizzi Studio is committed, every day, to upholding this vision, which has become one of the most important conditions shaping the agency's industrial design process.
Handcrafted 3D Modelling
In the age of AI, mastering modelling means giving a form the freedom to express itself fully, from every angle, without ever betraying its original intent. The creative process draws on emotional sensitivity, knowledge and experience. AI plays only a supporting role, never the creative foundation. At Oppizzi Studio, 3D is not merely a tool for representation: it is a language capable of fusing engineering and aesthetics within a single gesture. When mastery of the software reaches this level of rigour, it allows an idea to pass directly into three-dimensional form, without loss or compromise, with the precision of an object that seems to already exist, even before it has been made.
Homemade & magic: 3D printing
Prototyping reaches its final, most refined stage through 3D printing, carried out in our own creative laboratories. It allows for a more precise approach to the conceived object and gives our clients an almost limitless ability to bring their ideas to life. Our printer delivers prototyping of extraordinary quality, with precision down to 25 microns! Plastic resin, flexible resin, clear resin, ceramic resin for kiln firing, castable resin for jewellery: the Formlabs stereolithography system opens the door to creativity and precision without limits.
